The food is *chefs kiss* mouthwatering, it's so dang good. I tried some steak with pecans on it (I don't remember the name), also had their charcuterie board, and their shrimp pasta. I got it all for takeout so I'm not entirely sure how the staff is, but the madam who brought out my food was nice. The parking lot sucks though. You have to drive some fiat or something to get through the tight squeezes, cause if one car is parked wrong it's over for everyone.

My husband surprised us by bringing us here after my son finished playing his basketball game. This local hidden gem has its own private parking lot that from the outside gave a very homey, cozy feel to it. Within entering you could tell they had cute timeless decor and were sat with other families in the room. The menu was short but sweet, but we all found something for every tastebud. I ordered the salmon. It was cooked perfectly and the creamy sauce for the potato's paired very well with every part of my meal. I looooved every part of my delicious salmon, it was well cooked and thoughtfully prepared. Everyone's else's meals was incredible! I think if we happen to be back around the area we might swing back by. Can't believe I'd never tried this place before!

I had the Butternut Squash Soup last night. It is served with goat cheese and bacon crumbles. I asked for no goat cheese. At first I was a little worried when I saw someone else get theirs because I saw it was creamy. Creamy usually is too rich for me. Let me tell you I think this is the best soup I have ever had. I am obsessed with it! Besides the bacon crumbles (which did not overpower the soup), there were a few chunks of butternut squash. The soup was smooth and not overly creamy. But the flavor!!!! Oh, wow!!! Along with the tame flavor of the butternut squash, it was smokey and had a slight kick. I am going to check their menu every day so I will know when they serve it again as it was a special. Speaking of specials, you should sign up to receive their daily emails which tell you their special lunch which would also include soup or salad. And you can't beat the price on the lunch specials.

Came by Huisache Grill today for lunch. So glad we did. We were greeted at our table by Dakotah and ordered our ice tea. She was so polite and sweet. And we both had a love of ice tea. Especially the flavored kind. We both love flavored ice tea with no sugar. Then we ordered and asked if the salmon salad was good and she gave me a big yes and that it is real delish. So I ordered that and it was the best salmon I have had. So tender and NOT dry at all. My husband got the salmon sandwich and thought the same. It was so tender and the bread was so soft. So good. Dakotah was an absolute sweetheart. Great service and she was so attentive to our table. Food was fantastic and the ambiance was beautiful. Love all the old woods and antique decor. Beautiful.

Impressive would be an understatement to describe dinner last night at Huisache Grill in New Braunfels, TX. A family owned spot for 30 years in an old cabinet shop that is rustically decorated but comfortable. My daughter and I were seated and our server Melissa set us up with drinks while we looked over an interesting menu. It was difficult to decide BUT this place also offers some of the meat options as an add-on to their other plates. So if you want a chicken dish but crave some duck too...you can add duck as a side! I ordered the Huisache Chicken Tortilla soup and Mixed Grill while my daughter ordered from the Mix & Match Combo. Both entrees came with a side salad too. The Chicken Tortilla soup is something you would be remiss...the absolute best version of this soup I've ever had! The Mixed Grill had 2x beef medallions, blackened quail, skewered spicy shrimp, and poblano bacon wrapped chicken. I LOVED it all! The creamy horseradish sauce and Dijon/Merlot sauce a wonderful compliment for dipping and the sides of herbed baby potatoes and sautéed vegetable medley nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. The Mix & Match consisted of beef medallions and the Char-broil grilled duck breast along with green beans and herbed potatoes. Again, everything delicious and the duck was very good and the char didn't overcook the duck. We tried their GF Apple Crisp...for purists of this dish it is a dramatic flip...but in a good way of this dish. One note...only wine and beer, no cocktails available. This place has excellent service and Melissa was a pleasure to work with, while the soft music and atmosphere is so relaxing.

An electric menu, with a good wine list They are happy to make vegetarian options vegan . I had a fried avocado sandwich flavorful My friend had a Mexico City style shrimp cocktail . Some nice wine in a welcoming space the ample parking . Prompt friendly service. A patio to have a drink and wait on your table that alleviates your wait to something pleasant

Love the cozy, smalltown feel of the Huisache Grill! Wood floor interior, some big tables, some cozy booths. I had the Spinach Salad w/chicken and it was delicious! Huge! My husband had the fried trout and enjoyed it. For dessert, we split the Creme Brulee- and how can you go wrong?! If you are looking for a great spot that is a taste of New Braunfels, this is it! Several cute shops surrounding & fire puts & chairs outside.
